Endocrine System & The Chakras

There is a subtle relationship between the Chakras and the Endocrine System. Let’s explore this relationship.

What is the Endocrine system?

The endocrine system is made up of several organs called glands located all over the body which create and secretes (release) hormones.

Hormones are chemicals that coordinate different functions in the body by carrying messages through the blood to the organs, skin, muscles and other tissues. These signals tell the body what and when to react.

What are the parts of the Endocrine System?

  1. Hypothalamus

It is the messenger to the pituitary gland, informing it to start or stop creating hormones. It further connects the endocrine system with the nervous system. Hypothalamus is located in your head.

2. Pineal gland

It makes a chemical called melatonin that helps your body get ready to go to sleep. It is responsible for your dreams, visions, and foresight. most sedative medications and chemicals have a large amount of melatonin. The pineal gland is located in your head.

3. Pituitary

is the master gland of your endocrine system. It uses the information it collects from your brain to tell other parts of your body what to do. Some of its most important hormones include growth hormone, which helps breast-milking mothers, and prolactin, which controls blood pressure. It also makes the antidiuretic hormone, which helps with controlling body water balance. Pituitary glad s located in your head.

4. Thyroid

is responsible for making the hormone that controls metabolism and growth. If it’s not producing enough, it can lead to various health conditions, such as hypothyroidism. You may experience a slow heart rate, gain weight, or get constipated. The thyroid is located in your neck/throat

5. Thymus

is a gland that makes white blood cells that are important to the development of a child’s immune system. It starts to shrink after puberty. The thymus is located on your chest to your chest between your lungs.

6. Adrenals

Are your “gut feeling” giving you intuition, “fight or flight” hormone adrenaline called epinephrine. Adrenals are responsible for metabolism, heart rate, oxygen intake, blood flow, and sexual function, among other things. Adrenals are located in your upper diaphragm/solar plexus.

7. The Ovaries/the Testes

ovaries in women assist with hormones help to develop breasts at puberty, regulate the menstrual cycle and support a pregnancy. Ovaries make estrogen and progesterone. Whilst for men, the testes help them grow facial and body hair at puberty. It plays a role in making sperm and testosterone. Ovaries/Testes are located in the abdomen.

Now let’s explore the relativeness and similarities of the endocrine system and the meridian human system aka the Chakras point.

What are Chakras?

Chakras are energy pulls/centers of focal points that align and synchronize emotion (i.e. energy in motion) all over the body. The term Chakra emanates from the early traditions of Hinduism. Early Sanskrit texts detail meditative visualizations combining flowers and mantras and as physical entities in the body to influence and manipulate the seen and unseen realms.

In addition, the practice of Kundalini yoga, the techniques of breathing exercises, mudras, kriyas, bandhas and mantras are focused on manipulating the flow of subtle energy through chakras.

Just like your body if it is out o sync with the natural cycle, it will disease. The same phenomenon applies to chakras. If the chakras are out of sync, they can negatively impact one’s physical, mental, and spiritual health because each chakra is associated with a particular body part and its functionality.

Conclusion

The endocrine system and the chakras are two parallel realities that feed each other. It is thus vital to be mindful of the holistic healing and naturing of the body; mind and spirit to have a balanced life. Ensure that chakras flow uninterrupted from and to each meridian point to resonate energy to each endocrine gland/organ. Remember, you are electromagnetic.
